A few weeks ago, a woman contacted us about her dog, Champ.
Champ was rescued 2 years ago from the streets with a bad case of mange. His mange was treated then, but he also has severe allergies that are suppressing his immune system and allowing the mange to return. Champ lost most of his hair as well as being covered in inflamed, scabby skin. He is miserable.
Champ is gentle and sweet and is a perfect pet. However, his owner has some medical issues that caused her to lose her job, and subsequently her car, last year.
She contacted us to see if we could help getting Champ to the vet, and possibly financial assistance for his care. We immediately got her hooked up with some antibiotics and one of our volunteers drove him to a local vet last week. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to get him the medication he needs as well as a course of medicated baths.
He is looking great but still has a long way to go. The vet estimates it will take 2-3 months of bi-weekly visits to get him completely cleared up. We’d also like to get him neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his shots.
Any amount you can help with is greatly appreciated. Donations are tax-deductible.
